How preserving a Colombian forest protects one city’s water supply

Colombia’s western Andes Mountains is home to cloud forests, a special biodiverse ecosystem that is also home to about two million plants, birds, and microorganisms and fungi species. 

It is also an important water source to towns and cities nearby.

Deforestation and population growth is a huge threat to the region that local Colombians are fighting to protect.
