Ecuador and China signed a free trade agreement earlier this month that will deepen ties between the small Andean nation and the world’s second-biggest economy.

The trade deal needs to be ratified by Ecuador’s parliament which is currently dissolved until fresh elections are held in three months’ time.

Nonetheless, exporters are optimistic the trade deal will boost business.
