It was 70 years ago this week when 29 nations from Asia and Africa gathered for the historic Bandung Conference to chart a new path for developing countries.
Recognized as a milestone in fostering global solidarity, the meeting championed the fight against European colonialism, while promoting peaceful coexistence and non-alignment at a time of the Cold War.
