The United States has now set an August first deadline for countries to negotiate a new trade deal or face steep reciprocal tariffs. The White House sent letters to at least twenty countries this week, including key trade partners Japan and the Republic of Korea.
Since April, the U.S. has reached a framework for trade deals with China, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
