Barnaby Lo

Barnaby Lo started his career as a broadcast journalist at one of Philippines’ most internationally-awarded documentary programs, ” I-Witness” .

He moved to New York after a brief stint there to pursue a Masters degree in Broadcast Journalism at New York University. There, he wrote, directed, and produced a full feature documentary on Filipino doctors becoming nurses, which was an official entry at the Asian American International Film Festival in 2007.

He worked at ABC News’ Longform Unit before moving back to Manila in 2008. He’s been CBS News’ Manila-based producer since then, reporting on the cyclone in Myanmar that year, and helping produce a 48 Hour-Mystery and a 60-Minute piece among others.

Lo joined CGTN News as its Manila-based corespondent in 2011 and has since reported on major political events, natural disasters and cultural features in the Philippines and Malaysia for the network.
