Stephen Gibbs

Stephen Gibbs has been a correspondent in Latin America for the last ten years. He is currently based in Caracas.  

Previously he was the BBC’s correspondent in Mexico (2008-2010) and prior to that, the corporation’s correspondent in Cuba (2002-2007).

During the course of his career he has reported some significant breaking news events, including the 2009 coup in Honduras, the illness of Fidel Castro in 2006, the 2004 rebellion in Haiti and the second Palestinian Intifada in the year 2000.

He is the author of six children’s books. Stephen studied English Literature at the Cambridge University.
