With all eyes on the U.S. presidential election, some say the influential vote of Hispanic Americans may very well decide the next president. The group now makes up nearly 20 percent of the United States population.
Correspondent Mike Kirsch travels to California’s Central Valley – a region heavily-populated with Hispanic-American workers. He reports on the history of Latinos in the U.S. and the issues they face today.
Mike also talks to legendary labor leader and civil rights champion Dolores Huerta. She’s been fighting racism and discrimination against Hispanics in the U.S. going back to farm workers strikes in the 1960s with her late, colleague Cesar Chavez.
