The campaigners against protests in Hong Kong believes the city’s residents have sent out a clear message against weeks of disruption. And it’s got the evidence to prove it: a petition signed by 1.8 million people.
On Monday afternoon, the anti-Occupy Central Alliance presented the petition to the Hong Kong SAR government. CCTV’s Wu Lei reports.
After presenting their petition to the Hong Kong SAR government, anti-Occupy leaders say they will arrange meetings with legislative councilors and protest organizers.
The anti-Occupy group also called on Hong Kong residents to participate in the district council and legislative council elections in two years, in order to help with the city’s long term development.
