‘Great Wall’ of flowers blossom at Tiananmen Square

Beijing has completed decoration in Tiananmen Square and along the Chang’an Avenue, as the capital gears up for its Victory-Day military parade to commemorate the end of WWII.

Passersby are able to see a Great Wall-themed flower patterns, and 3-D printing has been used for the first time for decoration. Designers said that the huge flower pots are 3D-printed, and that they are more accurate than traditional modeling such as clay sculptures. Chang’an Avenue is one of the main roads in the city where China’s armed forces will march on Sept. 3.
