In an effort to prevent inflation and the food shortages plaguing Venezuela’s supermarkets, the government has begun the registration process for a new electronic ID system that will limit purchases at some government-run stores.
But critics wonder if this heavy-handed approach will really help alleviate Venezuela’s economic crisis. CCTV’s Martin Markovits reports from Caracas.
