Gabriela Alcantara Diaz, AHAA Education Chair and president of GAD Marketing communications says, “We basically define the upscale Latino as being a segment within the overall Hispanic US which entails a household income of 50 to 100 thousand and this is a working household.”

According a study released by the marketing research firms Nielsen and AHAA: The Voice of Hispanic Marketing, upscale Latinos comprise 40 percent of the total Hispanic purchasing power which totals about 1.5 trillion dollars.

The report says that the group tends to be bi-cultural, young, tech savvy, with larger families and they are more likely to be dual income earners than non-Hispanic up scales.
