Of the many reforms President Enrique Peña Nieto has put on Mexico’s agenda, energy reform is perhaps the most ambitious.

For 75 years, Mexico’s national oil company Pemex, controlled oil production in the country, contributing a third of revenues.

Recently however, there is a need for investment. Now Pemex will be opened to new partnerships and foreign investments. President Nieto expects the changes will increase production by 2025.
