Brazil expects to double annual poultry exports to Russia

Brazil, the world's largest exporter of poultry, is prepared to capitalize and strengthen its global position in large part because of the on-going conflict in Ukraine. CCTV America's Paulo Cabral reports.

Trade embargoes imposed on and by Russia as a result of the Ukraine crisis have opened up an unexpected opportunity for Brazilian poultry farmers. Brazil expects to double its annual exports to Russia this year and fully make up for the U.S. quota.

While Brazil stands to capitalize during the Ukraine crisis, top farm officials say Russia is playing politics and point out the biggest losers will be the Russian consumers who will pay more for their food in the long run.
