A multinational anti-terrorism military exercise has officially kicked off in northern China’s Inner Mongolia region. The troops are from China and four other nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. This year’s training highlights a team of Chinese female soldiers.

In just a few days, Chen Ye will play her part in the finale of the Peace Mission 2014 joint military drill. At the age of 23, she said is more than ready to give a boost to regional stability.

Life in military service is not easy. Some say it’s even harder for young women. After one and a half years of training, Chen Ye has become as strong as her male counterparts, in both body and mind.

There are 30 female special ops soldiers assigned to take part in the drill. More than 7,000 multinational troops have carried out the tactical training. CCTV America’s Tang Bo reports.
