Syria says it will cooperate with international efforts in the fight against the Islamic State group.

This comes after the United States signaled potential airstrikes against IS on Syrian soil.

IS has seized parts of Syria and Iraq. On Sunday, fighters captured an air base in northeast Syria. About 350 rebels 170 Syrian troops were killed.
