On Monday, the number of protesters blocking roads in the city’s key commercial areas and outside Hong Kong government headquarters has dropped significantly as government employees returned to work and middle schools resumed classes.
Meanwhile, voices of opposition to the protests have grown as many local residents say they are fed up with the disturbances. CCTV’s Wu Haojun reports.
After protesters brought life in parts of the city to a halt for more than a week, some degree of normalcy began to return on Monday. Government employees were able to return to work unobstructed as protester numbers dwindled.
