Gas crisis breakthrough possible in meetings between Ukraine, Russia

Ukraine and Russia energy leaders are in Brussels for EU-brokered negotiations to resolve the gas crisis. The EU Energy Commissioner hopes for a breakthrough to guarantee Russian gas will continue to flow to Ukraine and other parts of the EU this winter. CCTV America interviewed the Executive Director of the Initiative for Russian Culture at American University Anton Fedyashin about the the talks.

The Tass news agency reported that Russia’s Energy Minister said Moscow is set to finally agree and sign all documents. Experts also said that after more than four months without gas from Russia, Ukraine will struggle to boost its gas supplies from Western Europe.
