CCTV America’s Mike Walter interviewed David Savona, Executive Editor of Cigar Aficionado and asked him one more question about what was the best cigar he’s ever smoked.
“That’s a tough question. I smoked a Cuban cigar from 1959 — a Monte Cristo No. 1 — given to me by one of the great tobacco men in the world. He used to travel the world to buy tobacco for General Cigar company. At the end of our interview he handed me a cigar that had been aging for for about 40 years. And we shared that cigar together, and it was one part the cigar itself, it was one part the moment, and also the trust that he gave me to be able to share that special cigar with me. That’s probably the best cigar I ever smoked.”
