China’s Vice Premier Ma Kai is also attending the CeBIT event which is a business and IT event. China is an official partner this year. CCTV’s Guy Henderson was in Hanover and filed this report.

Tech trade fair showcases Beijing-Berlin partnership

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has officially opened the world's largest information and communications technology trade fair in the German city of Hanover. China's Vice Premier Ma Kai is also attending the CeBIT event which is a business and IT event. China is an official partner this year. CCTV's Guy Henderson was in Hanover and filed this report.

Highlights: 

  • At the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Angela Merkel acknowledged a rapidly growing economy in these sectors of communications and IT.
  • Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was virtually there, but his deputy Vice Premier Ma Kai announced in person China’s implementation of ‘Made in China 2025’. China’s goal of becoming a powerful production country.
  • Delegates called the fair the Davos of the digital economy.
