German Chancellor Angela Merkel has officially opened the world's largest information and communications technology trade fair in the German city of Hanover. - At the opening ceremony, German Chancellor Angela Merkel acknowledged a rapidly growing economy in these sectors of communications and IT.
- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang was virtually there, but his deputy Vice Premier Ma Kai announced in person China’s implementation of ‘Made in China 2025’. China’s goal of becoming a powerful production country.
- Delegates called the fair the Davos of the digital economy.
