Memorials held in the south of France payed tribute to the victims of Germanwings Flight 9525. People gathered for a special mass in a town not far from the crash site.  Many who attended lit candles in honor of those who died and prayed for peace.

Others living in remote villages close to the crash site left flowers at the base of the mountain following a memorial service.
