Those familiar with Washington know all too well the springtime rush that comes with the arrival of the annual cherry blossom festival. The nation’s capital welcomes a steady stream of tourists from around the world, ready to catch a glimpse and snap a photo with the buds of the Japanese sakura. While Washington seems to have commandeered the cherry blossom charm, its not the only place that calls itself home to the flowers.
From Japan to China to Germany to Washington, here’s a look at the arrival of the cherry blossoms the world over.
Japan
