Finland’s Nokia is in talks to buy French rival telecommunications company Alcatel-Lucent. The deal is being backed by the French government and if it goes through the merger will further consolidate the telecoms industry. The recent announcement follows a series of deals in the past few months, putting 2015 on track to be a record year for mergers and acquisitions.
