Hundreds of Chinese companies now working in Pakistan

Over 300 Chinese companies are now working in Pakistan in industries including defense, technology, IT, power generation and infrastructure. CCTV's Danial Khan filed this report from Islamabad.

Highlights:

  • Pak-China Investment Company is a development, financial institution formed under the initiatives taken by government of Pakistan and China for promotion of trade, investment and economic growth of Pakistan.
  • The company was incorporated in 2007 with a capital of $200 million. It is a joint venture in which equity is equally contributed by governments of both the countries.
  • Chinese President Xi Jinping will arrive in Pakistan for a two-day visit to lead a high level delegation. He is expected to sign agreements in various fields during the visit and will also inaugurate Gwadar Port and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
