For many years, the Caminito del Rey in Southern Spain was known as the world’s scariest walkway. The three-kilometer path claimed the lives of numerous adventurers as it fell into disrepair, but that is no longer the case.   • Set some 100 meters above a river, the Caminito del Rey, or the Kings little pathway, was built originally in 1905 to access the hydro-electric power station.
  • At a cost of $3.3 million, a new pathway has been built just a few feet above the old one.
