The United Nations Security Council has unanimously endorsed the Iran nuclear deal. The resolution includes measures that would end UN economic sanctions on Iran. CCTV’s Liling Tan filed this report from New York.

More details:

  • It was a unanimous vote from all 15 members of the UN Security Council, on a key step to lift crippling UN sanctions on Iran, if the country curbs its nuclear program.
  • The resolution calls for UN inspectors to verify Iran is taking action to curtail its nuclear-related activities, before UN sanctions are gradually lifted.
  • While the deal has received wide international support, Israel continues to object.
