Somalia and China have enjoyed economic and diplomatic ties that date back to the 14th century, with much of Somalia’s infrastructure in the 1960s and 70s built by the Chinese. The recent death of a Chinese embassy worker in Mogadishu has put a dent in the long-standing relationship between the two countries.
