Americas Now

Peruvian Singer Eva Ayllon.

Her voice embodies the experience of Peru. Eva Ayllon is an acclaimed South American singer who has had a musical career spanning four decades. She is known as the Queen of Lando a style of music that originates from Peru and could be described as “Afro-Peruvian.”

“Americas Now” caught up with Madame Ayllon this summer while she was in Washington, DC. She performed at the National Mall as part of a Peru Pachamama concert. Ayllon said that hearing people from other nations sing along with her music and applaud gave her great inspiration.

Elegant Eva Ayllon has shared the stage with other big Latin names in the music industry such as Marc Anthony, Raphael, Pedro Aznar, and GianMarco. She is also on the panel of judges for one of Peru’s popular television shows “The Voice of Peru.”

Peru is not only known for its unique seasoning in the culinary arts, it is also distinguished for its divine sounds. Case in point? This week’s Urban Voice Eva Ayllon. Check her out.
