El Nino is a weather pattern that originates in the warm waters of the western Pacific Ocean. The phenomenon sees those waters moving east travelling along the equator and then settling off the shores of northwestern South America. It’s a weather pattern that typically happens every two to seven years, but it can occur more frequently.
