Visitors to The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis can experience daily life in China…without ever leaving the United States.
The Take Me There: Chinaexhibit is one of the largest on contemporary China ever produced in the States.
“The tea ceremony we just saw was wonderful,” said Sara Gad, who brought her young daughter to see the exhibit. “It was something I never knew.”

The 1200-square meter exhibit is the result of a decade of planning and in-depth research, which included multiple trips to China by the museum’s researchers.
“It was really important for our educators and our designers to be in that environment so that we could really soak it in and look at all these little details that you may not see,” explained Jennifer Pace Robins, vice president of Experience Development and Family Learning. “When we add them in, it makes the experience really extraordinary.”
