Following a magnitude 7.8 earthquake on Sunday – the largest to hit Ecuador since 1979 – rescuers continue to search for survivors amidst the rubble of collapsed buildings and other wreckage. The epicenter of the quake, where the most extreme damage has been felt, is along Ecuador’s Pacific coast where its many fishing ports and tourist beaches reside.
