In the spring of 2012, then-college student, Alex Radelich, couldn’t have imagined that watching a movie would forever change his life. But, thanks to one line, it did.
One of the characters said, “The way to change the world was through one random act of kindness at a time.” That line sparked Alex’s passion for helping others.
“It hit me at a season in my life where I was just not happy with college,” explained Radelich. “I knew I wasn’t there for the right reasons and that line spoke to my heart more than anything ever has.”
Alex Radelich: Pursuing kindnessAlex Radelich talks about how one random act of kindness and compassion can change the world.
He and three friends started ARK Project Now, which stands for “Acts of Random Kindness.” Alex says it’s not just a non-profit, it’s a movement.
The ultimate social experiment, the group’s mission is to prove that simple acts of kindness and compassion, no matter how small, can make a difference and change the world. They hope to inspire other to do the same.
“We’re making it very difficult for the general public to donate to us,” said Radelich. “We’d rather have people take that money and go out and actually try an act of kindness rather than just give us money to do it ourselves.”
Alex Radelich joined Mike Walter in our New York City studio to tell us more about ARK Project Now.
