Turkish citizens are one step closer to visa-free travel in Europe. The European commission said Turkey has met most of the criteria under a migrant deal with the European Union.

EU member states have until the end of June to endorse the plan.
Visa-free travel in the Schengen area is a dream for many Turks.
The migrant deal is crucial for Europe as it desperately aims to halt illegal migration from Turkey into the EU. According to the European Commission, Turkey has been doing its part, as figures show arrivals on the Greek Islands dropped to less than 100 from an average of 10,000 a day.
If the visa-free travel plan is approved, it will likely strengthen Turkey-EU cooperation, which will be significant as both sides need each other to continue dealing with the ongoing refugee crisis.
