A Colombian journalist on forgiving the unforgivable

Americas Now

Colombia is a country where kidnappings, extortions and killings used to be common occurrences that were part of normal life. Stories of hope, love and respect were hardly heard.

Many of the victims of the country’s 50 year armed conflict still carry deep scars. And yet they want a future of peace.

Journalist Claudia Palacios decided to travel across her nation to ask her fellow countrymen one question. “Would you forgive?”

Some of the answers surprised her and can be found compiled in a new book entitled “Perdonar lo Imperdonable” which translates into “Forgiving the Unforgivable.”

Claudia Palacios is this week’s Urban Voice on “Americas Now.”
