Zee Entertainment launches Spanish Bollywood channel in US

The U.S. Hispanic market could prove a gold mine. Hispanics spent $1.3 trillion in 2015. That’s more than Nigeria or Argentina’s total economic output for an entire year.

One might wonder if Bollywood content could find an audience with Hispanics. Can India’s exotic musicals connect with viewers known for their love of passion, drama and sometimes cruel reality?

Indeed some attempts to connect with the Latino audience have struggled, especially those targeting the millennial.

However, Zee Mundo isn’t stopping with the U.S. It plans to expand into Latin American countries, such as Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
