Donald Trump’s election victory is causing a lot of stress for some Americans. Psychologists have said people are being diagnosed with a new kind of anxiety disorder: Post Election Stress Disorder (PESD).
CGTN’s May Lee reports from Los Angeles.
Since Donald Trump became president, there’s been a spike in people complaining of stress and anxiety
According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, of some 1000 adults, 40-percent said the outcome of the election was a somewhat or very significant source of stress. Meanwhile, 57-percent said the same about the current political climate.
One problem is that people are constantly being inundated with news and information television, whether that be on their computers or phones.
Therapists and psychiatrists are seeing patient loads spike like never before, and it’s happening mostly in Democratic strongholds like California.
