When Tai Chi meets Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

MMA fighter Xu Xiaodong and Tai Chi master Wei Lei faced off in front of a big crowd in Chengdu, Sichuan province last Thursday.

The deciding fight between Wei’s “Thunder Style” Tai Chi and Xu’s modern style of fighting… took 10 seconds.

The fight was live-streamed on two Chinese websites, and the video soon became a hit on social media.

The duel came about after the two fighters debated merits of traditional martial arts on Weibo last year.
