Palestinian photographer Fadi Thabet has spent more than a decade capturing scenes from around Gaza.
His work focuses largely on Gaza’s marginalized children, but Thabet leaves war out of his pictures.
“The people of Gaza are really worn out from scenes of war and destruction,” said Gaza-based photographer Thabet. “So, I took it upon myself as a photographer to try to bring some kind of joy to the children, to the elderly, and to everyday life.”
In early July, one thousand photos by Thabet hung on a long wall at the Gaza Port.
The exhibition, “A thousand pictures from a besieged city,” was funded by the Palestinian Ministry of Culture.
