Zimbabwe’s embattled President Robert Mugabe is facing impeachment at the hands of his own party.

The country’s parliament had given Mugabe a deadline of noon local time on Monday to step down, which came and went without a resignation.

In a televised speech on Sunday he did the same, while even calling for a cabinet meeting Tuesday morning.
