Corruption is the theme of this year’s Summit of the Americas hosted by Peru. The Peruvian government has seen a complete turnover in 2018 – even at the very top – because of corruption allegations.
Some of the accusations were tied to Odebrecht – Latin America’s largest construction firm. Odebrecht led to the downfall of three presidents.

Two former Peruvian presidents remain entangled in the Odebrecht scandal. Ollanta Humala is awaiting trial while Alejandro Toledo is a fugitive fighting extradition on corruption charges.
