Quiet discontent in Venezuela as new pricing scheme takes effect

Widespread frustration, and now confusion, is growing in Venezuela over President Nicolas Maduro’s economic policies.

Prices were dramatically cut and the currency devalued in attempt to deal with the country’s soaring inflation. Despite the discontent, however, a call for a national strike by the opposition did not go as planned.
