Thousands of people jammed Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C. Saturday for the Women’s March. Other Women’s Marches took place in U.S. cities and around the globe.
The first march was January 21, 2017, the day after U.S. President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
CGTN’s Rich Murphy asked folks what changes they have seen in the past two years and what other things need to happen in the United States.
The Women’s March in D.C. started at Freedom Plaza, a few blocks from the White House, and headed down Pennsylvania Avenue past the Trump International Hotel.
A 71-page policy document called the Women’s Agenda was released prior to the march.
The agenda is called a road map to mobilize and prioritize policies to strengthen human rights.
Ideological differences have caused friction between some groups of women.
A founder of the movement accused other leaders of anti-Semitism.
But people we talked with say common goals should outweigh conflicts among women.
