The United States southern border with Mexico has become a major political battleground in Washington, DC.
The Trump administration has long-called for the construction of a wall to stop migrants from crossing illegally into the U.S. Some have called for the border to be closed completely, while others say the wall is simply causing the death of migrants and won’t achieve its goal.
What is clear, the border remains a divisive issue.
Correspondent Dan Williams traveled extensively along both sides of the border in order to speak to those whose lives have been impacted by “the wall.”
President Donald Trump’s original cost estimate for building a U.S. – Mexico border wall was between 8 and 12 billion dollars. According to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, they now possess funding in the amount of just over 6 billion.
