Brazilian legend Marta Vieira da Silva is the most accomplished footballer in the world. She was born in a country where women were banned from participating in the sport for almost 40 years.

She won FIFA’s “World Player of the Year” Award in six different occasions. The 33-year-old athlete had to fight gender stereotypes, discrimination and inequality just to do what she loved.

Correspondent Miuda Valls met up with the famous player, who is known by her fans as “Marta.”

Marta’s record for scoring the most goals at a World Cup tournament stands for both women and men. She’s scored a total of 17 times in five World Cups.
