The 25-year-old black man was shot dead while out for a run in Georgia in February, sparking a national outcry in the U.S.
The charges were only brought in the case until May after shocking video of the shooting emerged online.
Protestors are marching in Ahmaud Arbery’s final footsteps, demanding justice for this young man.
The Department of Justice is also exploring possible federal hate crimes charges. A hearing on the murder and assault charges against Travis and Gregory McMichael in Georgia may not take place until June at the earliest.
