A probing look into a continent deteriorating from extreme temperatures, through the eyes of its residents.
In 2019 The European Union witnessed over 1,600 wildfires, more than three times the yearly average over the past decade. The continent, left dry following decades of rising temperatures, saw wildfires overwhelm emergency crews from the Atlantic coast of Portugal to the tundra of Russia.
Europe, known for its climate ranging from temperate to frigid is struggling to get a grasp on its new reality. Nowhere can the devastation of rising temperatures be seen as clearly as it can up north.
‘Up North’ takes viewers to Norway, Russia and France to see how wildfires, lack of snow and melting ice are impacting daily life as temperatures continue to climb.
