Just four months after U.S. President Joe Biden announced the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, the Taliban has taken control of most of the country including the capital Kabul.

The Afghan army – largely trained by U.S. forces – surrendered or deserted. Thousands of people including Americans and Afghans who helped them are struggling to leave Afghanistan.
