Next New York City mayor facing resistance over policing plan

In just a few weeks, Eric Adams will become the mayor of New York. He’s only the second African American to hold that job. But the mayor-elect has already sparked anger from Black Lives Matter activists who say there will be riots if he implements plans to strengthen policing.

New York City Police Department funding was cut following civil rights protests in 2020, but Adams now faces the challenge of dealing with a spike in violent crime. CGTN’s Sarah Walton reports.
