Four and a half months after the Taliban take-over in Afghanistan, the government is working to improve the country’s dire economic situation with little international assistance.
With many challenges on the ground, millions of Afghans are still struggling to make a living.
Earlier this month, donors agreed to release 280 million US dollars to the United Nations children’s agency UNICEF and the World Food Programme.
They are to bypass the government and deliver essential health services and food assistance directly to more than 10 million people.
