Almost 20 months to the day since George Floyd was killed, and a little over nine months since Derek Chauvin’s guilty verdict on state charges of murder and manslaughter a federal trial for the three other former police officers involved in Floyd’s death began with opening statements.

All have pleaded not guilty to the federal charges.
