Fifty years ago, a historic trip took place that would change the world. In February 1972, U.S. President Richard Nixon visited China and held meetings with Chairman Mao Zedong and Premier Zhou Enlai. The trip marked the beginnings of normalized relations between the two countries.
As part of the celebrations, Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Qin Gang was the keynote speaker at a ceremony held in the Nixon Library in Los Angeles in February.
